Sari Raises Money for Families in Need

My name is Sari Linett and I am a junior at Briarcliff High School.  I have been volunteering with the Gullotta House for the past 3 years. I combined my love of cooking with my desire to help others by shopping for, preparing, and delivering meals for families in need. Gullotta House helps out so much locally, so I’m trying to raise money to help even more families in need. I would appreciate any donations, thank you!

Gullotta House Remembers Maria Poguio

Hello, my name is José Gallego. I’m writing to the community to request some help for my family. On November 15th, my mother, Maria Poguio (age 60),  tragically suffered a heart attack and brain hemorrhage. She leaves behind four sons, two of whom depended on her. My mother was part of the Ossining community for over 30 years and worked for the school district in the cafeterias. She was very devoted to the church. Those who knew her know how much of a caring and positive person she was and how she always helped people in any way she could. We are asking the community for help with funeral expenses and hospital bills, and to grant her request to be brought back to Ecuador so she can rest in peace with my two brothers.  Thank you to everyone that helps and may God bless you.

Cortlandt Manor Fire Victims

Let’s rally for our neighbors in Cortlandt Manor who lost their rental home and possessions in a fire on October 27th, 2023. Unfortunately the family had no rental insurance. Fire victims Nabien Borja, his partner Mariella, their 9 month old daughter, and 4 and 11 year old sons have been displaced. With our strategic partnership with IFCA, we hope to provide clothing for the family, but more is needed to help them get back on their feet. Please donate by clicking above so that we can provide assistance to this family during their time of need.

Remembering Anthony Joseph Gullotta

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Anthony Gullotta. Gullotta House was founded in 2015 in dedication to Anthony and his wife Carolann.

Anthony Joseph Gullotta, surrounded by his loving wife and children, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Anthony was born on January 29, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of John and Frances Allesi Gullotta. He was the youngest of four children, grew up in Pleasantville, New York and attended Stepinac High School.

Following high school, Anthony joined the United States Army. After his honorable discharge from the service, he followed in his family’s footsteps where he became a Master Mechanic in the Masonry and Bricklayers Union. He was a member for over fifty years.

As a young boy, he loved the game of golf and played often. This love of the game continued all through his life. Anthony passed his love of golf on to his sons and grandsons. He also loved music; playing both the accordion  and the electric organ for many years. Many a Saturday and Sunday, he would play for the children, giving them that same love of music.

Anthony and his family resided in Westchester, New York for many years and later in life they were residents of Austintown, Ohio. While an Austintown resident, he attended St. Joseph Church.

Anthony is survived by his loving wife of over sixty years, Carolann; a loving father to his six children, Theresa and husband, Phil DiPinto, Anthony D. and wife, Joyce DeBree Gullotta, John E. and wife, Denise Vignola Gullotta, Marianne and husband, Salvatore Minardi, Matthew L. and wife, Cinthia Molina Gullotta and Christopher J. and wife, Susan Walsh Gullotta; his thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances Gullotta; his brother, Carmello Gullotta and his sisters, Angela Vetta and Lucille Gullotta.

His funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Sleepy Hollow, New York on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a private inurnment at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Anthony’s memory to Gullotta House. Proceeds of the memorial donations to Gullotta House will be used strictly as follows:

Gullotta House Needs a Home” campaign to purchase a house to provide temporary shelter for fire and flood victims for 29 days after residents are displaced by such disasters, including clothing, meals and laundry services.

Carl Nunziato VA Clinic, 1815 Belmont Ave, Youngstown, OH 44504:
We will also help up to 5 families with a loved one in a hospice facility or utilizing home hospice  care. You are not alone. Having experienced this with friends, parents, and acquaintances,  Gullotta House understands. We will try and help with a simple meal, gas card, small check or just a ride to help out. We thank all nurses and hospice staff. The families appreciate all that you do.
